Ladakh Monastery Excursion (07 Nights/08 Days)

DAY 01: ARRIVE LEH:-
Upon arrival at Leh Kushok Bakula Rinpochey Airport you will met our representative and transfer to Hotel for Check in. Complete day for rest and leisure to acclimatize as Leh is at an altitude of 11500 feet. Evening Visit to Leh Palace & Shanti Stupa. Overnight at Hotel.
DAY 02: LEH LOCAL TOUR EXCURSION:-
Post breakfast we visit Spituk monastery, Built in 15th century during the reign of Dakpa Bumlde, these new Gelug-pa monastery was built like fortress on the summit of crags and also visit Hall of Fame near Leh built and maintained by the Indian Army. It showcases the glorious deeds of the Indian army in the region since Independents.
Post lunch we take a sightseeing tour visiting Sankar Gompa, located at a distance of approximately 3 km from the town of Leh, Leh Palace is one of the most captivating architectural ruins that attract the attention of the tourists almost immediately with its majestic setting at the edge of the Namgyal hill and overlooking the town and a reminiscent of Lhasa’s Potala Palace in Tibet.Overnight at Hotel.
DAY 03: LEH TO SHAM VALLEY:-
Post Breakfast we drive to visit Phyang Gompa, located 6 kms away from Leh. Further we drive to Likir, Likir Gonpa situated on top a hill overlooking the beautiful village of Likir.Then we drive and cross the River Indus and reach Alchi popular for it 1000 years old fresco/wall paintings. After visiting above monasteries we drive to Uley for Overnight stay.
DAY 04: SHAM VALLEY TO LEH:-
Post breakfast start early morning we drive further to visit Lamayuru, Belongs to Dripung Kagyu (Red Hat) like Phyang. After visiting Lamayuru we drive back to Leh enroot visiting Ridzong Gompa, known as the paradise for Meditation. After Ridzong visit we drive back to Leh enroot Sangam(Conflunce of Indus & Zanskar River) and Magnetic Hill. Overnight at Hotel.
DAY 05: LEH (EXCURSION TO MATHO, STAKNA & STOK):-
Post breakfast we take an excursion to few more interesting monasteries of Leh start with Matho, lies 26 Kms south-east of Leh on the opposite bank of the Indus river, Stakna, A small monastery, comprising the private apartment, all newly decorated in good Tibetan style, a Du-khang and the rooms of monks and attendants & Stok Lies south of Leh on the opposite side of the Indus River. Overnight at Hotel.
DAY 06: LEH (SHEY, THIKSEY,HEMIS & MAHABODHI:-
Post Breakfast we proceed for Indus Valley Monastery tour including Shey, The ancient capital of Ladakh, Thiksey an impressive complex rising tier upon tier on a hill above the village.Next we will visit Hemis monastery and drive return to Leh on the way visiting Mahabodhi, The only center in Ladakh to conduct Dhamma talks and meditation programs. Overnight at hotel in Leh.
DAY 07: LEH:-
Early morning visit Sabu oracle for Prophecy Namgyal peak – Crowned by the now ruined fortress, houses Buddha’s deity Maitreya. It was here that the bodies of the defeated Mughals were offered to deities in the medieval era
Rest of the day at leisure to explore the beauty of Ladakh on your own and time for last day shopping.Overnight at Hotel.
DAY 08: DEPART LEH (FLY OUT):-
Tour concludes. Travel To Himalaya thank you for your patronage and ensure a punctual transfer to Domestic Airport Leh to catch the flight for your onward journey towards home.
