The Nubra Valley lies to the north of Leh and was once the gateway to the ancient Silk route. The valley has vast alluvial plain and bacterial camels, which roam the sandy banks of the Shayok River. This trek is one of the least visited and the beauty of the unspoiled landscape will leave you reminiscing about its stunning views of Karakoram ranges. The beauty of the trek is surpassed only by the final day–a spectacular bus or jeep ride over the highest motor able road in the world (5606 m).
DAY 01: ARRIVE LEH:-
Upon arrival at Leh Kushok Bakula Rinpochey Airport you will met our representative and transfer to Hotel for Check in. Complete day for rest and leisure to acclimatize as Leh is at an altitude of 11500 feet. Evening Visit to Leh Palace & Shanti Stupa. Overnight at Hotel.
DAY 02: LEH (EXCURSION TO MONASTERIES):-
Post Breakfast we proceed for Indus Valley Monastery of Shey Palace, The ancient capital of Ladakh, Thiksey Monastery an impressive monastery complex rising tier upon tier on a hill above the village and Hemis Monastery & Stok Palace. Overnight at Hotel.
DAY 03: SHAM VALLEY TOUR UP TO ALCHI:-
After breakfast drive towards west of Leh visiting Hall Of Fame,Spituk Gompa further drive to Magnetic Hill(Defines Gravity),Sangam(Confluence of Zanskar & India River). Later we visit to Lekir monastery and then to Alchi monastery, it is one of the ancient monastery of Ladakh.The Gompa at Alchi is renowned for its massive Buddha statues, lavish wood-carvings and houses the only example of Kashmir-style wall paintings in the area. There are also many chortens around the village. After visiting Alchi monastery we will drive back to Leh. Overnight at Hotel.
DAY 04: DAY HIKING(ACCLIMATIZATION):-
Today after the breakfast we go for a day hiking in purpose of Acclimatization. Visit Shanti Stupa(Peace Pagoda) build by Japanese Buddhism in 1982 in purpose of spread peace & harmony in the valley. Later we visit Sankar gompa.200 year old Sankar monastery, which contains a plethora of impressive images, wall paintings and sculptures, including a huge statue of Aloketesvara-with 1000 arms & heads,Namgyla palace and Leh Palace. Overnight at Hotel.
DAY 05: LEH TO HUNDER(NUBRA VALLEY) VIA KHARDUNG LA (05 Hrs):-
After an early breakfast we drive to Nubra Valley leads through KHARDUNG-LA-PASS (the highest motor able road in the world) at 18,390 ft, around 39kms from Leh. Nubra Valley is popularly known as Ldumra or the valley of flowers. It is situated to the North of Ladakh between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas. After Khalser driving further towards Summur.Summur has its famous Samstanling monastery and then to Kyager which has its famous ancient Royal local Kitchen popularly known as Zumskhang.After this now we will proceeds towards the west part of Nubra Valley.Hunder in west pat of Nubra Valley is famous for its SAND DUNES to enjoy a camel safari (Optional).DISKIT MONASTERY perched on the rock overhanging the steam which is the source of the energy used by the mills. The monastery is rich, full of tangkas (skill paintings) and above all of magnificent giant statues, effigies of the Buddha and old mural paintings in which can be noted a multitude of influences. Overnight at the Camp.
DAY 06: TREK FROM HUNDER TO HUNDER DOK 3500M (4.5 Hrs):-
The first day of trekking is through the beautiful Hunder Valley along with the rough jeep track, which opens up just before descending to Hunder Bridge. An amazing day forest valleys, steep hillsides, and then we reach the end of a valley guarded by ancient forts. Ahead of us the snow peaks of the Karakoram and below the old Silk Road oasis of Hunder. Reach the pasture camp of Skarchen. Overnight stay at camp.
DAY 07: HUNDER DOK TO DOK YOKMA 4100 M(05 Hrs):-
Another beautiful day. We will pass through the villages of Dok Yokma and Wachan, which are names of different places with concentrations of scattered houses belonging to a common village known locally as Hundar Dok. If you are not in a hurry to get to your camp at Hunder (a place where some of the local families go with their animals during the winter), you can spend some time exploring the villages and share a few moments getting to know the locals. Hear you have an opportunity to see some wild life. Overnight stay at camp.
DAY 08: DOK YOKMA TO LASIRMO LA HIGH CAMP 4200 M(05Hrs):-
Today we will walk down through meadows, flowers, and sometimes rocks. Most of the time, we will be walking along the Hundar stream. After following the stream for a while, we will pass through shepherds’ huts, where the men and women from Hundar Dok Village live with their Yaks, cows, goats and sheep. They could be seen collecting milk, cheese, butter, wild vegetables and fuel for the winter. If you feel adventurous, you can taste the delicious milk and cheese with Tsampa. Purchasing these is not possible in Leh. Our campsite is just end of village Dok Gongma. Overnight stay at camp.
DAY 09: LASIRMO LA HIGH CAMP TO PHAYANG PHU 5400M(07Hrs):-
Today after early breakfast we will trek towards Lasermo La glacier. Zigzag walk on the glacier by finding our own way is of about 2 hours up to Laserme La top(5400) from where we have views of the Stok range behind and the Karakoram ahead. Then a descent-possibly on snow to our high pasture and the all the way gradual down walking up to Phayang Village. Later drive back to Leh. Overnight stay at Hotel.
DAY 10: LEISURE DAY:-
Today you will take rest at hotel. After lunch you will visit local market for shopping of some local products. Overnight stay at hotel.
DAY 11: DEPART DELHI (FLY OUT):-
Tour concludes. Travel To Himalaya thank you for your patronage and ensure a punctual transfer to International Airport to catch the flight for your onward journey towards home.
